Builders
Many buyers of homes expect their new home to be pre-wired for cable or satellite TV, audio/video, computer networks, telephone, and security systems. When done properly, this low voltage wiring is called "Structured Wiring." Structured wiring can be done after the house is built, but it is much better to integrate structured wiring into the home construction.
Many neighborhoods have broadband access such as DSL and Cable Internet. Even if a home does not have this access yet, it will in the future. With the ability to share the high speed Internet access on a home network, pre-wiring of a house becomes even more important. While houses can be wired after construction, the ability to get to outside walls, and place the connections where the homeowner may want is more difficult, and definitely more costly to the homeowner.
If you do not offer structured wiring to your customers, you should make it a high priority to investigate the advantages of structured wiring in your new homes by Contacting Us for details.
Prospective homeowners: ask your builder if they offer structured wiring options. If they don't, ask if you can contract it yourself. If they say no, say "Thank you" and find another builder.
